Call for entries 2026 is open!
StopTrik IFF, international celebration of stop motion and experimental animation art, calls for submissions!
The 16th edition of the Festival is coming in autumn to Maribor, Slovenia (23. - 27. 9. 2026) . We hope we have a chance to present your film in the International Competition Programme.
We're looking for stop motion and experimental animated shorts (max. 30 min) which are fresh in style, innovative in storytelling, outstanding in visual form, playful or dramatic, politically engaged, philosophically contemplative, purely abstract, or simply hilarious. We're eager to consider professional productions, student films, music videos and commissioned films as well as the works of enthusiasts without any prior professional training in animation.
StopTrik Official selection consists in competitive programmes (Stop Motion Animation; Borderlands - for experimental works; Stop Motion Animation for Children) and a non-competitive section Panorama. Films that only partially use stop motion but mix it with other animation techniques and / or combine with live-action are also eligible for submission.
Films eligible for submission should be made in the techniques of stop motion animation and / or combining stop motion with other means of film expression, produced after January 1st, 2024, and of duration no longer than 30 minutes.
Submission is free of charge and easily done via our ENTRY FORM.
You should apply until July 10th, the results will be announced in the first half of August 2026.
Apply with your animation, read the TERMS AND REGULATION, STATEMENT ABOUT PRIVACY POLICY AND DATA PROCESSING PERMISSION and fill out an ENTRY FORM until 10. 7. 2026.

Producer of StopTrik International film festival is Pekarna Magdalenske mreže, co-producer is Narodni dom Maribor – Vetrinjski dvor. Festival's co-financiers are Slovenski filmski center, Mestna občina Maribor, Urad RS za mladino.
