Official opening of 16th StopTrik

At the festival’s official opening, we’ll kick off the five-day festival in true StopTrik style, where we’ll watch 161 animated films, discuss stop-motion animation techniques and the phenomenon of dead media, create our own stop-motion animations, visit exhibitions, socialize to music, and much, much more. On opening night, we’ll screen the first part of the retrospective program, “Dead Media: Fleeting Traces.” The films deliberately explore obsolete or disappearing forms of animation and invite us to slow down, unravel, and embrace the fragile pleasures of vanishing media.
