Workshot: Children stop motion animation workshop with Lene Lekše

A few days before the festival, a children's stop animation workshop with Zarja Menart and Brina Fekonja took place at the Lutkon Theatre. Participants explored banned medieval literature and the mysterious 15th century Voynich manuscript, written in an unknown coded language. They come up with the story, created the set and the waxed characters, and then got to animating.

The three-day workshop was based on a conceptual approach to animation. We combined the practical execution of a short animation project with the process of learning about critical approaches to media and understanding film as a complex mode of artistic communication. Kaja Fiedler and Urška Breznik (critical literacy), Vassilis Kroustallis, Tal Kantor (screenwriting), Piotrek Chmielewski, Urszula Domańsk, Lene Lekše (stop motion animation).
