StopTrik 2022 Goes to Łódź
Since 2012 the replica of StopTrik IFF has been held in Poland, and this year, for the seventh time, we invite you to the city of Łódź, to celebrate the festival of hand-made, spatial animation, or simply put: STOP MOTION.
Between 14th and 20th of November we will indulge in watching a rich programming of the latest stop motion productions from around the world; films dealing with the most diverse topics and evoking a whole range of emotions.
We are pleased to announce collaboration with new, exciting partners who will host our screenings and events: Kino Szkoły Filmowej (Film School Cinema), 6 Dzielnica (6th District Club), Miejsce Spotkań (Meeting Point club), and Mediateka.
StopTrik replica consists above all in presentation of 73 films from the Official Selection which embraces International competition programme: Stop Motion Animation, International competition programme: Borderlands Competition (experimental films), Panorama, and for the first time at StopTrik – International competition programme: Stop Motion Animation for Children. The films will be enjoyed and evaluated by the StopTrik Audiences and Student Jury.
But the festival is not only a competition! In the additional program you will watch a unique collection of the best animations from the Czech festival ANIFILM and a tribute programme on the occasion of the 140th birthday of Władysław Starewicz, the father of puppet animation. Trik Show, a discussion with the animators about practical aspects of stop motion filmmaking should not be missed!
A symbolic Last Picture Show of the special programme “Animator on Tour: The Best of Animator 2022 (Feature Film Competition): BOB SPIT - WE DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE”, will be our farewell to the befriended BODO Cinema which closes its doors after 8 years of existence. Among other great cinematic initiatives, BODO hosted and supported StopTrik from its day 1 in Łódź.
