StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

Animated Panorama from International Children's Film Festival, Bangladesh

International Children's Film Festival Bangladesh is organized in this country's capital city, Dhaka, for 11 years now. The festival aims to screen films made for children and also films made by children. One of the major aims of this Festival is to create significant impact and fundaments of the future film industry in Bangladesh. All the organizers and volunteers are young, dynamic and energetic. The programme presented on the 8th StopTrik IFF will be introduced by one of the festival's collaborators. Asif Islam is a nineteen-year-old student in Dhaka and a festival volunteer since 2013. He is a stop motion animation film enthusiast and in order to come to Maribor he received mobility grant from the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). The films he chose for the presentation bring a lot of joy and entertainment for the youngest audience, and can serve as a basic introduction to the worldwide animation art. Additionally, Asif Islam will present few short films made by young aspiring filmmakers during the festival in Bangladesh.

StopTrik IFF expresses high gratitude for support of selected films' authors and producers who have embraced Asif's programming and enabled the opportunity for this animated and intercultural meeting to take place in Maribor.

Presentation includes Asif's talk about the Festival in Bangladesh and presentation of short videos made during the festival.
