Traditionally for StopTrik we invite you to take part in an in-depth presentation of filmmaking processes experienced by animation filmmakers attending the festival. In the realm of objects that are hand-movedby animators, thousand different challenges may appear, and they all require imaginativeness, inventiveness, labor-passion and unique artistic awareness that stimulates problem-solving methods. Discussing the creative process behind the films presented in9th StopTrik IFF programme, the filmmakers will explain most intriguing tricks and solutions employed. Their talks will be accompanied with variety of materials that support average person's inquiry into specificity of stop motion animation (making-of, work-in-progress, documentation of shooting process etc).
Additionally "Trik Show" gives the floor to the experts who wish to bring closer understanding of other artistic practices that appear significant and complementary for stop motion filmmakers. Along the authors of the films presented in competition and panorama programmmes, this year we will meet Tanja Vujasinović (Croatia; an author of "A Cat is Always a Female" who will ponder over the problems of hybrid forms of animation), Nik Phelps (USA/Belgium,acclaimed musician and composer for animated films), Franziska Brückner (Austria, researcher examining relations between VR and stop motion) as well as Xu Yanjun (China; professor of animation from Nanjing focused on animation education for children).
