StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

In an isolated and unknown place during a war, a child is forced to flee. On his way, there are horse carcasses everywhere. Only dead horses. Why? Why did the horses decide to kill themselves?

 

Med vojno mora otrok pobegniti iz samotnega in neznanega kraja. Na svoji poti naleti na trupla konjev. Vsepovsod ležijo mrtvi konji, drugih mrtvih živali razen njih ni. Zakaj? Zakaj so se konji odločili, da se ubijejo?

In a school corridor, Alphonse catches up with a girl, who suddenly faints in front of him. He tries to kiss her stupidly, but Marco shows up and makes a fool out of him. 6 months later, it’s summer.

 

Na šolskem hodniku Alphonse dohiti dekle, ki nenadoma omedli pred njim. Povsem neumno jo skuša poljubiti, takrat pa se prikaže Marco in Alphonse izpade kot bedak. Šest mesecev zatem je poletje.

It was an absurd age between 1960 and 1970 in China. The heroine broke the taboo, and she went to cover up the mistake she made, so she took a bus, but didn't know where it would go.

 

Med letoma 1960 in 1970 je bilo na kitajskem absurdno obdobje. Junakinja je prekršila tabu in se odločila prikriti svojo preteklo napako. S tem namenom se je usedla na avtobus, vendar ni vedela, kam jo bo pot zanesla.

Based on Percy Shelley’s poem ''The Dirge'', Ginevra depicts the aftermath of the murder of a young woman. As her distraught mother looks on, she learns that life after death involves a transition she never could have imagined.

 

Film Ginerva je narejen po predlogi pesmi Percyja Shelleya z naslovom ''Žalostnika'' in prikazuje posledico umora mlade ženske. Ko raztresena mati umorjene ženske razmišlja o dogodku , ugotovi, da življenje po smrti zajema prehod, ki si ga ni nikoli predstavljala.

Vsi smo že razmišljali o tem, kaj bi se zgodilo, če bi skočili iz višine, iz naročja izpustili dojenčka ali nekoga zabodli z vilico. Navadno lahko te misli brez težav tudi opustimo − toda kaj če jih ne bi mogli prepoditi iz glave?

Lovro is tired and sad. He fills the bathtub with water, looking at the droplets dripping from the tap. As one hits the water surface, Lovro remembers the day he first went fishing with his grandpa. Memory and reality merge into one.

 

Lovro je utrujen in žalosten. Kopalno kad napolni z vodo in opazuje kapljice, ki kapljajo iz pipe. Ko ena izmed njih zadene ob vodno površino, se Lovro spomni dne, ko je šel prvič loviti ribe z dedkom. Spomini in realnost se prepletejo in zlijejo v eno.

Preživetje, nesoglasje in sožitje gredo z roko v roki, spremljajo pa jih izbruhi radosti in bolečine, ki so posledica človekove notranje potrebe po iskanju in poudarjanju razlik kljub očitnemu dejstvu, da je podobnosti več.

Aoko povsem zaupa v brezhibnost dokumentov, ki jih ustvarja v službi, vendar za svoje delo ne dobi nikakršnih pozitivnih povratnih informacij. Nato nekega dne ujame sodelavko, kako na skrivaj zamenja njene dokumente.

Povsod po svetu se pojavlja vedno več zidov. Če jih še niso zgradili, pa o tem razpravljajo in takšno zamisel ponosno zagovarjajo − tako kot v primeru velikega zida v Calaisu ali še večjega Trumpovega zida na meji z Mehiko. Glasba: Piers Faccini.

When all life is drained and vacuumed, all that’s left is sand. For a very long time, I was sand and I was drowned. An exhausted girl travels across an endless desert to look for new hope while trying to deal with her erratic tempered anteater.

 

Ko je življenje izsušeno in izpraznjeno, ostane le še pesek. Zelo dolgo sem bila pesek in bila sem udušena. Izmučeno dekle potuje preko brezmejne puščave v iskanju novega upanja, medtem pa skuša obvladati svojega nestanovitnega mravljinčarja.
