StopTrik International Film Festival is dedicated to stop motion techniques of hand-made, spatial animation as puppet film, claymation, object or photography manipulation, animation of loose materials (such as salt, sand etc), pixilation, traditional cut-out and many more. The list of sub-genres could be complemented with such exceptional techniques as animation of lights, fire, yarns, threads. Artists' imagination is limitless and so we can be neither orthodox nor strict while defining the term "stop motion". The ultimate goal of this unique annual gathering is to admire and celebrate artistry of hand-made, spatial animation together with all the other drifters of the surreal, absurd or merry highways who are ready to pursue frame by frame illusion.

Ukrainian wasteland. A girl, whose only treasure is a painted Easter egg, is shocked, as her grandmother puts a freshly slaughtered chicken on the table. Confronted with death for the first time, she leaves the house, questioning her tranquil life, only to face a new tragedy that will force her to give up her treasures.

Ukrajinska puščava. Dekle, katerega edini zaklad je pobarvano velikonočno jajce, je pretreseno, ko njena babica postavi na mizo sveže zaklanega piščanca. Prvič soočena s smrtjo zapusti hišo in se sprašuje o svojem spokojnem življenju, ko se sooči z novo tragedijo, zaradi katere se bo morala odpovedati svojemu zakladu.

Maryna Miliushchanka

Born in Belarus. Studied Fine Arts and Visual Communication (with a focus on animation and set design) at Kunsthochschule Kassel. Worked as a set designer on 5º Milorad Pavic (Direction: Georg Tasch) and The Old Man an the Bird (Direction: Dennis Stein-Schomburg). Her graduation short "säen", based on a friend´s true story, is her directional debut.

Marko Meštrovic

(1972, Stuttgart) graduated painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. He has been making animated films since 2000. His films were screened at some of the most important film festivals (Locarno, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, Ottawa, Edinburgh, Sarajevo) and received many awards. He plays drums in the world music band Cinkuši.

Joseph Wallace

Joseph Wallace is a BAFTA Cyrmu nominated animation and puppetry director. His short films have received acclaim and screened at festivals internationally as well as receiving Vimeo Staff Picks. Joseph has written and directed for theater, created animated projections for stage and worked as a puppetry consultant and dramaturg. In 2015 he was made a BBC Performing Arts Fellow and in 2017 won the Visegrad Animation Forum. He attended the prestigious training course Animation Sans Frontières, is active as a writer and lecturer, and curated the film programme of the 2015 Bristol Festival of Puppetry.

Suresh Eriyat

Born in November 1973, Suresh Eriyat is a 1997 graduate from the National Institute of Design. Suresh set up Famous House of Animation in 1999. He created numerous animated ads, shorts, music videos with many firsts that brought not only national and international recognitions but also changed the way people perceived animation in India. In 2009 he founded Studio Eeksaurus, with his wife Nilima as his partner, that won the first ever Annecy Cristal for the country in 2015, and the President's national award in 2016 and recently in 2018 for best animated film Tokri(The Basket). Specialising in Animation Film Design, Suresh came to Mumbai looking for opportunities in making animation films. Prospects of creating animated stories in India back in 1998 was very nascent as animation was more known for the back end services that Indian companies offered foreign studios. Slowly the dream of creating original animation films was getting closer for him and his partner and there he continues to elevate the recognition of quality Indian animation content across the world. Eeksaurus also is a very well known advertising film production company that is among the top ones of our country. Having sat in several prestigious jury panels of the likes of Clio, Apollo, LIA, Promax, D&AD, Krok 2017 etc for many years and educating students and aspiring filmmakers across the globe with his masterclasses at NID, Krok, IDC, MIFF 2018 to name a few, he has won more than 150 national and international awards, with a portfolio of more than 400 films. He is also a trained Carnatic musician, an artist par excellence with a deep interest in philosophy, anthropology and culture.

The main character is creating a "colorful" story about his own breakdown, in his mind. He's pushing himself into a tight form, created from the irrational complexes, fears and sorrows. Like in a Peter Bruegel painting, he's Dedal, as well as Icarus, and a peasant who is turning his eyes away from the tragedy at the same time. He's also the only person who can be saved by himself.

Glavni lik v svojih mislih ustvarja ''pisano'' zgodbo o svojem zlomu. Potiska se v stisnjeno obliko, ustvarjeno iz iracionalnih kompleksov, strahov in skrbi. Kot v sliki Petra Bruegela, je tako Dedal kot Ikar, ter hkrati kmet, ki zatiska oči pred nesrečo. Prav tako je edina oseba, ki se lahko iz tega reši.

Lena Ólafsdóttir (1983) is a 3d modeler and film maker from Kópavogur, Iceland. She graduated with a bachelor in Computer Graphic Arts in 2017 from The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark. She was a director on her bachelor film which was a stop motion production. Her main focus is on 3d modeling and traditional sculpting. Her aim is to develop herself in more film making projects.
