An animated miniature where a drawing gradually comes to life before our eyes, telling a story not only of a wild boar on the run, but also of the ways in which people occupy the places that used to belong to nature. Based on memories of a walk in the Belgian Ardennes.

Animirana miniatura, v kateri risba pred našimi očmi postopoma oživi in pripoveduje zgodbo ne le o divjem prašiču na begu, temveč tudi o tem, kako si ljudje prilaščajo prostore, ki so nekoč pripadali naravi. Film temelji na spominih na sprehod po belgijskih Ardenih.

  • This film was drawn and animated solely by the filmmaker on a single sheet of paper as a performance based on a process of successive drawing and erasing, leaving on the sheet the ghostly trace of each movement as well as the rips of paper.

  • Film je kot performans, zasnovan na procesu zaporednega risanja in brisanja, na enem samem listu papirja samostojno narisal in animiral avtor, pri čemer je na listu pustil prikazensko sled vsakega giba in raztrganine v papirju.

Nicolas Piret

is a Belgian artist and director who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and ENSAV La Cambre. His various backgrounds in contemporary drawing, comics and animation led to his graduation film "The Dog’s Drama" (2022), selected at the Student Academy Awards. In 2024, he directed "Silent Panorama", which had its world premiere at IFFR, followed by Karlovy Vary, Annecy and Toronto (TIFF). Piret concluded his "Natural Drama" film trilogy with "Venezia Diorama", presented in world premiere at IFFR 2026. His films, animated alone and entirely by hand with meticulous attention to detail, have been recognised for their craft by the American Film Institute.
