Sonya (Sofiia) Nikitina
is a Russian and Turkish animator and film director. They earned a bachelor's degree in animation from the HSE Art & Design School in Moscow, while dedicating significant time to mastering stop-motion techniques independently. Following graduation, Sonya co-directed with Vitaly Ushakov a 19-minute film “wUF wUUF we are DOGS”, sponsored by School-studio Shar. Passionate about experimentation, Sonya is captivated by quirky, whimsical, erotic, and flickering animation films, continually seeking to push the boundaries of the medium.
Vitaly Ushakov
is a Russian stop-motion animator and film director. He earned his bachelor’s degree in cinema theory from the Liberal Arts and Sciences Faculty of Saint Petersburg State University, where he authored multiple articles on the theory of animated motion and the history of early animation. Transitioning from theory to practice, Vitaly co-directed the short film wUF wUUF we are DOGS with Sonya Nikitina, under the sponsorship of School-studio Shar. In 2023-2024, he pursued an MA in stop-motion at Bau College of Art & Design in Barcelona, where he co-directed “Momma doesn’t notice shit”, assuming the role of the film’s lead animator. Vitaly currently works as a stop-motion animator on various productions, continuing to explore his creative vision.
Juliette Gangl
is a French visual and stop motion artist. She's been passionate about miniatures and puppets since a really young age as her dad introduced her to all kinds of manual arts, building a little world of their own. As an adult, she completed her film studies and worked as a director, videographer and caméra assistant on shootings before she decided to fully dive into the world of stop motion and finally bring life to her childhood universe. She co- directed "MDNS" and naturally took mostly charge of the set design and props making of the movie.
