Ru Kuwahata (Japan) and Max Porter (USA) are Oscar-nominated animation directors, writers, and illustrators based in Providence, USA. Their collaborations are known for exploring human relationships through distinctive mixed-media storytelling rooted in personal experience. Drawing from their own lives, they translate moments such as marriage, relocation, and parenthood into intimate narratives, often shaped during long walks together. Their films have screened at more than 1,000 festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, and Annecy, and have received over 200 international awards.
