On an ordinary night in rural Wales, Sarah’s life takes an unexpected turn when she is visited by an extra-terrestrial being tasked with observing an average member of the human species. Offended by the label of “average,” Sarah continues her daily routine, unaware of the profound impact her seemingly ordinary life has on her observer.

Charlie Miller

is a director, writer, and illustrator based in Bristol, UK. With over 14 years’ experience in the animation industry, he has worked with clients including Disney, Aardman, Marvel, BBC, and Funko. His short films combine humour, visual storytelling, and social observation. Beyond Averages is his latest animated short. He is also the author-illustrator of “Felix Found an Egg” (“Flying Eye Books”, 2025) and is currently developing original children’s content for screen and print.
