Svojat

Ljubljana-based power trio high-roping above no-wave, avant-garde blues, Saharan punk, Beefhearty luddism, and free improvisation. Fon’s Buñuelesque poetry is rendered in such an expressive manner that not speaking Slovene does not hinder the listener’s aesthetic experience. Poderžaj’s electric bass combines the functions of both rhythm and solo instruments thus shifting and expanding harmonic vectors of the guitar and reeds. Drawing from his jazz and free improv background, Drašler’s drumming is sonically poetic while mathematically intriguing. The trio are active on the wider domestic improvisational and alternative scenes and can be found in numerous ensembles. Their 2020 debut album, Svojat, immediately marked them as a band with a bright future - a promise confirmed by last year's release, Ošili me modro. Since their inception, they have lit up countless venues and festivals, delivering a potent and confident mix of emotion, melody, and noise. Rather than braking on the descent, they dive in headfirst, skillfully navigating their turbulent musical path and taking the audience along for the ride. Brutally honest and brilliantly tight, they have been described as lyrical storytellers, masters of weaving resonant lyrics with sharp, incisive sound.

Svojat are: Andrej Fon (guitar, saxophone, lead vocal, lyrics), Ivo Poderžaj (bass, vocal, lyrics), Vid Drašler (drums).

Vidrinmož

Klemen Šali dislikes the term VJ, preferring to call himself a cinema operator. While his audio alter egos have been active in various forms for over a decade, his work in visuals is a more recent venture. However, he quickly learned from the best on the scene and soon developed his own signature style. Visually, however, he is a noise artist. He doesn't care for finely crafted 3D animations. He prefers to use poorly cropped JPEGs, awkwardly converted GIFs, videos of animals and industrial machinery, a mockery of political establishments, and adds the stamp of the local environment. He is more on the "glitch" and "strobe" side than on the side of the beautiful/polished.
