An homage to the scientist Simon von Stampfer, who presented his invention of the Stroboscopic Discs in Vienna in 1833. These discs show all kinds of animated loops from abstract to figurative and from experimental to documentary, and in this way foreshadow the variety of genres in animated film.

Poklon znanstveniku Simonu von Stampferju, ki je leta 1833 na Dunaju predstavil svoj izum, stroboskopske diske. Ti diski prikazujejo najrazličnejše animirane zanke, od abstraktnih do figurativnih in od eksperimentalnih do dokumentarnih, ter tako napovedujejo raznolikost žanrov v animiranem filmu.

Thomas Renoldner,

born 1960 in Linz, Upper Austria, 1979-83 studied psychology and educational theory, 1989-94 studied painting and animation film at the Academy of Applied Arts / Vienna. Since his early youth works as self-thought filmmaker and in the areas of music, painting, installation and performance. Numerous experimental, animated and documentary films and some commercials. Also works as Producer, Teacher, Film Historian, Festival Organiser and Curator for Animated Films.
