Ten-year-old Morten lives in a coastal town. His father is the captain of the ship Vix and is often away and his mother turned into a penguin, at least according to his dad, but Morten knows this can’t be true. He is an avid model shipbuilder and he is even preparing a show together with Elisabeth. In the show, a bug accidentally shrinks Morten with a magical powder and he suddenly becomes the captain of his model ship, sailing the seas of a flooded café.
