On Saturday, we take a turbulent, scenic and colourful charter flight from Peru to Baku with Slovenian masters of sampledelic dance music, the journey will be joined by visual artist 5237, and a good landing will be provided by the pioneer of Maribor's breakbeat scene, Rocca.

Three veterans of the Slovenian music scene in this trio project are trying to avoid all the expectations pitfalls of established DJ-musician alliances. Using turntables and drums, they provide us with a unique and striking fusion of funk, breaks, African sounds, Balkan musical expressions and Yugoslavian jazz, Istrian folk, Turkish psychedelics, and rock. Their songs are at times rough, and at times a fine and careful assemblage of pieces, fragments or samples into a wild dizzying mosaic with unpredictable twists and turns. They make for a great combination, a structure of equal roles and tasks, in which they’re kneading, filing and refining the presented in their own ways, but always end up with outstanding material. We are in for a hectic mix and a wild, but stable ride.

Stella Ivšek is an intermedia artist and VJ who performs under the name VJ 5237. Her work is interdisciplinary, spanning between graphic design, interactive visualisation and scenography, but she is also interested in animation, live generative sound visualisation, video projection mapping and video editing.
Rocca
Dj Rocca is a pioneer of Maribor's breakbeat scene, who first started at Supernova in Pekarna, and is also a founder and former member of the Import Crew. He has wowed the crowds with his range of music and sets on numerous occasions. We can expect a diverse and delicate selection of breakbeat, funked-up breaks, funk, nu-disco, hip-hop, soul, etc.
