Papageno

Opera-based animation filled with impeccable attention to detail. Papageno, a bird catcher from Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” idles away the time with his avian companions, fights an undulating snake, and finds love and family happiness.

An artist finds his private life being disrupted by an omnipresent, oversized hand.

Sova, ki se je poročila z gosjo: eskimska legenda / The Owl Who Married a Goose: An Eskimo Legend

Based on an Inuit legend about a goose who captures the fancy of an owl, a weakness for which he will pay dearly. The sound effects and voices are Inuktitut, but the animation leaves no doubt as to the unfolding action.

A poignant interpretation of a short story by Montreal author Mordecai Richler. It makes a strong statement about how many families respond to their old and infirm members. 1977 Oscar nomination.

Thousands of beads are arranged and manipulated, assuming shapes of creatures both mythical and real. They continually devour, merge, and absorb one another in explosions of color.
